I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. I’m incredibly excited for everyone to hear our last podcasts of 2022 and the first podcast of 2023. It’s always fun to talk about towns that really get into the holiday spirit. Having lived in Middle Tennessee for 10 years, Franklin is a town I highly recommend visiting any time of year, but especially during the holidays. Durango, CO is another town that looks like a picture postcard this time of year. So beautiful and has so much to offer.
Our last podcast of 2022 is a really interesting look at Give the Kids the World Village in Orlando, FL. Give Kids The World Village is an 89-acre, whimsical nonprofit resort in Kissimmee, Florida, that provides week-long, cost-free wish vacations to critically ill children and their families from around the world who want to visit Central Florida. Definitely check that out.
Starting 2023 off right, we talk with Jennifer Allen about families of children with disabilities that travel. This was a powerful episode and really struck a nerve with me. We talk a lot about all the stress that comes with a family vacation. For these families, that stress can certainly intensify. There are certainly layers of research and extra planning that go into trips. Some families may even question if it is worth traveling at all. We really want to be a source of encouragement if you’re wondering if it’s worth traveling. Jennifer’s blog, wonderswithinreach.com offers a multitude of resources and information for families of children with disabilities. What better information can you get than from a family dealing with similar things as yours? We’re going to leave up the Wonders Within Reach logo on our site with a link to Jennifer’s blog so families can get those resource and make those precious family memories. And honestly, it’s not just about making memories, it’s allowing our children to expand their worldviews and get experiences that you simply can’t put a price tag on. So, please check out that podcast and pass it on to families that may need that information.
Danny and I hope that your family has a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you for listening and/or watching. We’re planning some big things for 2023 and want you all with us!
